I thought this test went
very well for me. I will find out when I get the results, but I felt like I was
familiar with all the topics on the test. I prepared for this test by looking
over my notes from class every night. I think my method for preparing for this
test was very effective. I also think that I will keep using this strategy for
future tests. I am a kinesthetic learner. Which means that I learn by example.
If the professor does a demonstration, I learn the skill so much easier. The
most challenging aspect of the test was the short answer. That was the first
test that I have ever had that was all short answer. Usually there is some
multiple choice or at least some matching questions. I expected there to be
more vocabulary. The Vocabulary section was the hardest part for me I was
nervous about the vocab section going into the test, but I felt I knew most the
words. Maybe not the exact definition, but something with the same concept. I
also expected it to have more questions. When someone says exam I automatically
freak out. The term college exam sounds scary to most people. Honestly the exam
was easier than I had anticipated, but I have felt that way about tests before
and the result did not turn out so great. Hopefully this time things are
different. If I did not do good on the test I will have to try a different study
strategy. Overall I felt that I made a good grade on that test.

What Words Mean to Me?
My
relationship with words started out rough. In the first grade I started having
lots of trouble reading and saying words. Second grade came around and I tested
positive for Dyslexia. This was a huge set back in my relationship with words.
I remember all my tests had to be read to me, even word problems in math. So
growing up my only real relationship with words was hearing words. So I am a
strong believer in encouragement and positive speaking. What people say does
affect how you feel, what you wear, and even your emotions. As much as I would
have liked to just speak and hear words that just isn’t an option. Words are
everywhere we look including billboards, internet, letters, bills, and there
are even words on our road signs. During high school I realized that I don’t
have to like words, but I do have to accept the fact that I will be seeing
words the rest of my life.“Words
are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to
use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively
using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help,
to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate, and to humble.”-Yehuda
Berg. This is my favorite quote about words. Growing up in public schools you
hear a lot of bad words and not a lot of encouraging ones. If everyone kept
their mouth closed when they wanted to say something negative world peace might
be possible. Some words ruin lives, while others enlighten a person’s day. I
have used words to help comfort my girlfriend after her cat died. She was
devastated but I helped her feel better. Other people have used lots of different
words to hurt me. I think words save lives on some occasions, and other times
it destroys lives. I would say that my relationship with words is
understanding. I understand why words are so valuable, but at the same time I
have always struggled with words. So I don’t typically enjoy reading words for
fun. I understand that it is something
I have to practice and be good at.

About Me!
My name is Luke Renner. I am 18 years old, my home town is Denton, TX. I have one brother, two dogs, and a cat. I have lived in the same house all my life until now. My mom is a PE teacher at an elementary school, and my dad is a car mechanic. My grandma also lived with us. We have two acres of land, so growing up I had plenty of things to do outside. We had three four-wheelers, and a dirt track in the back yard. My family also has a pool, I spent most of my summers in the pool. I enjoy playing basketball and basically any sport. Basketball is by far my favorite sport. All my life I have grown up watching and playing basketball. I am a mavs fan for life. My favorite player is Dirk Nowitzki. My favorite NFL team is the Dallas Cowboys, and my favorite MLB team is the Texas Rangers. I graduated from Billy Ryan High School. I played basketball all four years, and baseball for two years. I never played football in high school, but my friend group lead the student section at all the football games. At the football games were some of my best memories of high school. My favorite hobby is fishing. Me and my dad used to wake up at 5am to go fishing every Sunday morning. I love working on my 1995 Jeep Wrangler.
